Daudi Yves Magisha

Daudi Yves Magisha was born in 2000. Daudi Yves Magisha is a contemporary artist living and working in Zambia. He explores the link between mental health and creativity, as well as toxic masculinity and men’s emotions, using art as a means of self-reflection and a tool for change and inspiration. Through innovative conceptual drawings and paintings on paper and canvas, Daudi engages in multidisciplinary modes of art to address and find solutions to common issues affecting local and global communities. In his work, he uses painting and mixed media to explore themes of change, self-reflection, and enlightenment, drawing inspiration from the Masai tribe. Incorporating symbolic forms like open and closed boxes to represent open-mindedness and closed-mindedness, he challenges viewers to broaden their perspectives and treat themselves and others with compassion. His art addresses diverse topics such as growth, mental health, and societal issues, aiming to push viewers beyond their comfort zones and inspire positive change.
